Sertoma Meeting Minutes

January 18, 2012

 The meeting was called to order by President, Terry Boucher at 5:30 p.m. with the Sertoma Song, Pledge of Allegiance and introduction of guests, Duane Gritzmaker, Past Regional Director of the Mountain West Region; Denny Fennell, Front Range District Governor; and Norm Borchers, Central Colorado District Governor.

Terry announced that as of January 1, 2012, Southglenn Sertoma was chartered and read congratulation letters from other clubs.  Terry also read a thank you note from Dry Creek Sertoma thanking us for the hats and mittens for Lids for Kids.

The Charter Banquet, scheduled for February 15, was discussed.  Cindy Markham will work with Terry Boucher to plan the event.

Terry thanked Jerry Nonko for attending the District Roundtable meeting January 9.

Terry announced that a “Southglenn” page will be put on the District website.

Pat Nearman reported on the progress of the Easter Basket fundraiser. She is in the process of working on publicity.  It was agreed that all club expenses should be paid for by check and receipts must be obtained.  Pat will retain receipts for repayment after the fundraiser.

The meeting concluded with guest speaker, Marty Keilman, who gave an emotional talk on organ donation.
