FRONT RANGE DISTRICT GOVERNOR MESSAGE

    Well, time marches on and we have just finished the first quarter of 2012. In April, Sertoma will celebrate its 100 year anniversary. So many years with so many citizens committed to SERvice TO MAnkind. It is hard to imagine all the collective good that Sertoma members have been able to do for their respective communities.  Being part of an organization that works so hard and unselfishly to improve the fabric of our respective communities has been a humbling experience.

    Every time we have our President's Roundtable, I am always impressed with how much good is accomplished by all our members and their respective clubs. In addition to past accomplishments, there are also new projects and commitments discussed for the future so the process of service never rests.

    Trying to cover all those accomplishments would be impossible but, to identify one, I would like to mention our Freedom Week Event and the fact it was extremely successful. Never a group to rest on our laurels, we now plan to have a successful Soap Box Derby Event on June 2 and 3^rd of this year. I hope all of you will continue to support this event with your time, energy, and money. This event is another example of how our Front Range District and Central Colorado District pull together to provide a unified support base for large projects. At the same time these larger projects are taking place, our clubs are also performing more service projects on their own. In short, our SERvice TO Mankind continues to march on and on. The years fade and time passes in a continuing parade of events that are so numerous they seem to merge together. After they merge they form a mosaic of our community that is sometimes difficult to visually identify but truly strengthens our community fabric which in turn supports the larger fabric of our country. I know the remaining portion of 2012 will be a successful year in a legacy of years that stretches back a century in our SERvice TO Mankind.

                                                IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

PLEASE BE AWARE OF NUMEROUS ITEMS THAT NEED EVERY CLUB’S CONSIDERATION.

THESE INCLUDE:

*  NATIONAL NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE NEW OFFICERS THAT WILL BE SERVING YOUR CLUB BY THE MIDDLE OF THIS MONTH.

*  EACH CLUB NEEDS TO IMMEDIATELY BEGIN THE PROCESS FOR AWARDING OUR SERVICE TO MANKIND AND SERTOMAN OF THE YEAR RECIPIENTS.

*  I WILL BE LEAVING MY POST AS DISTRICT GOVERNOR AT THE END OF JUNE AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN SERVING IN THAT CAPACITY NEEDS TO ADVISE ME OF THAT FACT SO APPROPRIATE PLANS CAN BE MADE.
